Finally Done. My Kuwait Airways A340-300 In 1/144

Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:02 pm

Here are some pictures. Kit is Revell, decals are from Flying Colors. I found the decals easy to apply, but not very resistant. However, better than Brasil Decals.

I chose to make it 9K-AND "Al-Riggah", because that means "the tenderness" and it is a very smooth and tender experience to fly with an A340. Thanks for the translation, HiJazzey.

I don't know when the ext one will be done, but probably not this year.

Comments are welcome.

If LH changes the livery, I'm going to airbrush the whole thing pink, that flying pig.

The kits I can buy in stores, the decals are from online shops. I'll answer your IM soon.

Your not the only one, I would imagine.

Nicely done project. Lovely photos.

I recall doing that myself (with help) during my earlier years -- I built a Eastern L-1011 and a 747 (can't recall the airline name).

This made me do it again soon.

It took me a lot of practice, and they are a lot better when airbrushed.

Do it. And post some pictures when you're done.

Nice! In your picture from the other thread, I thought it was a Skymarks or Herpa Wings model already painted!!!

You can paint my lego aircraft into a proper airline  Silly

Nope, they arrive as a bunch of unpainted plastic parts, which need to be painted and assembled. That's why I only have seven of them done.

Haha. I paint large surfaces with the airbrush, gives really good results. Smaller things like tyres or engines I paint with a normal brush. Smaller details, symbols, letters etc, are made with decals. For Lego I think you need to use the bricks in the right color, and add some stickers for letters, symbols etc. There are also Lego bricks with letters on them around.

Amazing detail on all of those models! What scale are they? 1:144?

I would love to add stickers of some sort to my aircraft except I have no idea how to make them properly. At the moment I am trying to print out tail liveries and lettering on sticky backed paper and just stick that on the side of the lego aircraft.

Come on, people often consider me the biggest Airbus cheerleader. However, I have many kits and decals for 727, 737, 747, 767, and 777 around, I'm just doing mainly Airbus now, because I have experience with those kits. I'll make the Boeing ones later.

Yep, I buy them, because making them would be very difficult. I guess there are none to buy for your planes, because they are custom made. Keep trying with your production, I wish you luck.
