Why is the limit that low? Usual turbulence penetration speed is 280 KIAS. Is the Airbus different in that way?

Unfortunately I can't use FSpass due to owning a mac and using xplane  Sad

You CAN go as fast as the aircraft can go! But it is said that you have to maintain 250 knots below 10,000 feet... not 12,000 feet...

But if you are in special airspaces and ATC approves: you can fly 340 knots...

I think you can get it through http://www.fspassengers.com , where you can also download a demo that will give you a good idea of the how everything works.

True. I just got curious since FSpax word it as if the plane will self destruct if the speedlimit is blown. Some airports have speed limit points already at 17000 ft. The swedish ATC quite often allow free speed all the way down if the airspace isn't congested. That doesn't mean max speed since the risk of birdstrikes is great at low altitudes.

Well, if you break the speed limit with some things you may aswell have the plane slef destruct. Like gear, flaps and spoilers.

I usually choose departing from KDCA (Ronald Reagan, Wash. DC) for that  Wink
I've tried several flights out of Baghdad and you really get shot at over there. Only once I managed to land a few minutes after departure with the landing gear up, and virtually nothing working on the plane. I did get a lot of points Big grin

At the moment I'm somewheres over Canadia (yes I meant to spell it that way...  Wink ) in the PMDG 744 in VS colors. Flying KLAX-EDDF on Friday's LH457 route gotten from FlightAware...

Not using FSPassengers on this one as I haven't built up my airline that far yet. I started with piston singles and in about 8 hours I get promoted to First Officer (c6) and can buy my feelthere ERJ!!! Can't wait for that...

As a side note since everybody is posting FSPax reports, what is your best landing made with the program, i.e. lowest fpm at touchdown? My personal record is -23.4fpm done in the Aeroworx Super King Air 200...I was pretty proud of that one. Average is somewhere around negative 80-90fpm...

WOW, my average is about -400-1000fpm the other day i had a -2600fpm which is very bad. I badly need to get better, what is a good plane for me to hone my landing skills to a somewhat more respectable level?

Hah...putting the struts through the wings there, eh!?  Wink

As far as an airplane to use? Just use the one you normally fly with! Practice makes a HUGE difference with any aircraft as they all handle differently. That said, after a while you learn little things you can do to soften touchdowns. One huge thing that a lot of people don't bother with in the sim is making sure you're on a stabilized APPROACH. On an ILS at Vref in the 767 you should be getting roughly 700fpm, so even if you don't flare at all, you'll do better that 1000. Getting everything set up correctly and stable before getting to the flare is huge for landing consistency. If you have an airplane with a radar altimeter and callouts such as the PMDG 73G, that will help out with judging when to flare. Another thing that may help you is leaving the power in a bit longer into the flare to sort of "cushion" yourself. If you do this though, you have to be careful not to balloon back up, get slow and slam back down.

Hope this helps!
Oh, and I found the flight report from the one flight...

Well my landing FPM is probably about 100fpm, normally do a really steep descent and then smooth it out. Big grin Joking but it int great

Pilot Review: So far so good, apart from a mishap after takeoff when the autothrottle zeroes itself and made me stall, I was too busy negotiating ATC to realise so had to conteract the stall with a quick descent. I caught it though, and we are now on course for MMMX a minute or so late

Well, I'm for sure no expert and I have been flight simming on a trial and error apporach for some time and the planes that have made me improve my landings a lot are the ifdg A318, A319 and A321. After a lot of practice with them I have been able to land 777's, 767's and 747's. Again, I'm on a trial and error, so getting -300 or -400 on the heavies for me is an achievment!

BTW, I hope someone can help me regarding fspax. I can't seem to get a proper load for the A330-200 (it sohows 115% over MTOW without any pax on board!) and I suck at editing on the payload editor. Aby help will be appreciated!

Hi guys and girls,

My best landing rate with Fspassengers is about -50FPM, I seem to do alot better without FSpassengers at my landing rate, shame there isnt a program that would tell me it! Does anyone else give a slight blast of throttle just at about 10 foot high? i do and it smoothens the landings alot!

My latest flight was KJFK-LPMA (new york - Madeira)

Not sure what flight to do now though!

I'm 2/3 through flight QR002 Heathrow - Doha, using an A340-600 (CLS / Overland model) which mysteriously carries the registration A7-AGA, which I believe is an A340-500 registration!

Anyway, I am 974 nm from Doha, should be landing in just over 2 hours from now!

I did BOS-LAX today in the POSKY 767-300 in United new colors. Came in for a nice smooth landing on 24R. I have the Simflyers LAX scenery and the only thing missing was the IN n OUT burger on the approach. Maybe some of the scenery gurus on here could design one....

I wish those import taxes were really reduced. A registration like RA-77219 would have been more fitting for VP-BAS, which now flies for VN.
