Longest FS Flight?

Sun Feb 04, 2007 1:49 pm

Wondering your longest flight on Flight simulator, without leaving your computer for an unrealistic amount of time, without time compression.  Wink

I just flew my 777-200LR from YYZ to MDB  Smile Over 12 hours!!

Cheers

My longest would have to be a pathetic 5 hours and 20 minutes doing JFK-LAX.

Well I done MIA-DXB in 777-200LR I done that flight twice. Take off around 9pm Miami time and land about 15 hours later. Ofcourse I go to sleep and let the autopilot fly. Very nice flight one of my favourites. Also have done MIA-NRT which I took off at 6am did my normal day schedule came back home and landed the 747-400.

IAH-HKG on a CX 744. The route was about 7300nm, did it in about 18 hours. Of course, I had no on board payload, otherwise there would have been no way I could have done this routing.

I've only done ATL-LAX I left my 747 for a long time, through dinner, and all kinds of nightly happenings, and I then let it fly all night. Of course, unlimited fuel was on.

That would only of taken 3 hours, so why did you need unlimeted fuel?

Yeah. I kind of forgot about it, and then went to my computer the next day and heard the sound of my plane still flying. It was over the Pacific, so I guess it circled the globe and was going around again.

I had quite a boring summer. So i had the chance to do a few EXTREMELY long hauls. Flew CO89 (EWR-PEK) 12.9, CO88 (PEK-EWR) 13.5 hours, CO9 (EWR-NRT) 13.2, SQ21 (EWR-SIN) 18.8 HOURS. I enjoy the polar crossings, but I would not recomend SQ21. Its great up untill coming off of the Russian China boarder and realizing you still have 6 hours left. Along with a few trans atlantic's

Surely the plane would circle the airport, In all my experience of FS, whenever its reached the destination it just circles.

I've let my FS run overnight several times. The longest I've done is either PHX-SYD or EWR-NRT, being 16 and 14 hours, respectively.

Yep. It was a fun to look where I was after all that time. I might try it again one of these days with a faster plane.

I did SEA-AMS in something like ten hours back in the days when I didn't realize that the IFR routes that FS "finds" aren't always particularly realistic...I seem to recall being over Alaska before making the turn towards Europe. Other than that, I haven't done anything longer than a few eight hour and some odd minute flights between the U.S. and Europe.

Thats what i understood. I flew what I said sitting at my computer in real time without any speedups, as real flights with real flight plan, ther true plane and NOT UNLIIMITED FUEL (  Wink ). I have flown around the world a few times though just letting my computer sit and a 747 run itself on autopilot.

Do you want straight-line or in legs?
Straight-line: 14:48, LAX-SYD, in a Pacific Airways 747-400 (PMDG).
Legs: About 10-12 hours. I did a flight line from Seattle to Buenos Aires, Argentina in my trusty PMDG 737-700 with winglets.

In the Seattle-Buenos Aires journey, I stopped in about 6 different countries for either fuel or a break. I went down via LAX to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and continued to El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia before finally reaching Argentina.

This was summer 2006, when I had nothing better to do.
I need a drink.

Just under 19 hours; yeap you've guessed it - SIN-EWR on the A345 Big grin

Was very, very boring as others have testified; I set off in the evening, watched some TV, then went to sleep for 9 hours remembering to set my alarm clock just in time to commence the descent into EWR. The flight was actually a little longer than it should have been as I awoke to find myself at 39,000ft over New York, so it took me a while longer to descend, finally landing with just a few gallons of fuel left.

I hated that flight, as i had said, but i felt like being a HUGE loser and actualy doing the entire flight without doing anything else. Just flying the 345. Never really got into taking off and stepping away from the computer....

When I did SVO-LAX, I was pretty ill that day, suffering from a nasty cold. And there I was, monitoring the computer on one side, and watching TV on the other. And those 13 hours paid off.

Hmm, IIRC, my longest flight to date was LAX - NKW using an A345.

Took about 19 hours.
