Just Planes DVDs

Wed May 02, 2007 6:55 pm

I recently purchased two Just Planes DVDs, United Airlines Boeing 777 and South African Airways Airbus A340-600. They are both absolutely brilliant. The A340-600 DVD has a really interesting flight on it, it is the delivery flight of ZS-SNI. There are only the flight crew on board, and the Just Planes video crew. One little piece of information I didn't know. The delivery flight was TLS-JNB, but they had to route north in to British airspace before tracking back south towards Jo'berg. This is because the aircraft had been purchased through ILFC, and for the mortgage to take effect, the airline had to officially take delivery of the aircraft in the UK, where the company is based. Therefore, flying in to British airspace covers this! Very interesting indeed!

I have that DVD and I agree that it's very good. I was very impressed by the FO John Cambell, I thought he was very prefessional and made some interesting comments and updates throughout the flight from TLS-JNB.

What do you think of the UAL 777 DVD? I haven't gotten that one yet. I agree with you that the SAA A346 DVD is outstanding!

The SAA A346 DVD is great but I must admit I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any filming in the cockpit during a commercial flight....with the FRA sector being filmed in the cabin.

Still an awesome DVD though!!  Smile
