Pmdg 757 Panel

Tue May 29, 2007 11:23 am

Hi all

I love the PMDG 757 but the frame rates suck and I know most of its because of the panel. I ave tried to replace the panel which worked fine for the 737 but when I do it for the 757 the plane goes into its maintenance mode with the landing gear missing. Does anyone know why or if there is a way to get a frame rate friendly panel for this bird?

Thanks!

WTF???? PMDG has never made a 757....

Do you mean PMDG 747 or PSS 757?

Umm...yeah. I'm guessing you're referring to the PMDG 747-400 since you also mentioned the 737. My humble opinion is that that produt is bought for the panel. If you don't want that panel, you'd be much better off and have a much thicker wallet if you just went to Avsim and downloaded a good 744 model. Putting the default panel with the PMDG 744 model is not only against their user agreement, it's the most pointless thing I think I've ever heard of doing with it. No offense...

The same goes for the PSS 752 if that is what you're talking about...just find a good free model instead of paying for the panel you don't want to use.

There are a couple of very good tutorials for the PMDG 747 on AVSIM. They include FMC programming. Or, you might consider Mike Ray's book that's just a little less than $30. Hope that helps!

I know I love the panel but is there a way to improve the frame rates or do I just have to buy a new video card? working with the panel keeps me up until 2-3AM in the morning just playing with it and I love it, I just dont want to go to bed becuase Iam learning all the time with these great panels!

If you guys really want to go back, PMDG once did make a 757 for a different simulator. It helped them establish a name in the community, and checking the website, is no longer available.

Gotcha...but again, you're mostly paying for the panel. The VC is a frame hog, so you might try disabling the VC in the configuration block. The Advanced panel block and flight dynamics aren't even out yet, so if you plan on getting those, you're definitely going to have to upgrade a bit...I have a three year old laptop that runs FS9 decent with the CS 752 in the VC.

As far as learning the FMC and the panel, search for some tutorials on Avsim and Flightsim.com...sometimes you'll find some if you search Google too...I'll try to find some links for you when I get some more time...

The manual/bible that comes with it is a good place to start. This site is also useful:
