FS2004 - What's Up With Lagos, Nigeria?

Thu Nov 22, 2007 11:28 pm

I just landed in Lagos, Nigeria after a long flight from LHR. Having never flown to Lagos before I thought it might be interesting. However, what struck me was that as I flew over the city, hardly any buildings were there! Did I miss something? Isn't Lagos supposed to be located directly south of the airport? If so, shame on Microsoft for creating such crappy autogen scenery. I mean, this looks like a small, rural village. And Lagos is supposed to be gigantic! Is the autogen scenery for Lagos really this bad? Or did I simply not fly over the city proper? As mentioned, I flew over the area directly south of the airport.

Did you set the autogen to max? It is possible that due to a low autogen setting, you can't see all of the houses.

No, the autogen setting is "extremely dense", so that is not where the problem is. Isn't there anybody else who has flown to Lagos and can confirm whether or not the city really is supposed to look like a rural village with just a handful of houses scattered around?

Well, I was able to download an African Mesh file from avsim, and now Lagos looks the way it is supposed to: A huge urban sprawl!
