Help With The Captain Sim 727 Pro Autopilot...

Thu Nov 29, 2007 9:31 pm

Hey guys and girls,

How the hell does it work?

I've just been trying to use it - and how do I get it to follow the GPS line? How can I fly the plane using GPS without having to keep changing the heading using the heading dial.

I had the same problem and ended up uninstalling it. It became very frustrating using it. I believe it may have something to do with these aircraft were about (in real life) long before GPS lock was available. If anyone knows the answer please post.

p.s. does the CS 707 have the same "problem", as the model looks very good?

I have never used the GPS function with the autopilot. Maybe its just not possible! so try to find a route where you fly from VOR to VOR Big grin like in the good old days  Wink
Or just use heading select for it and track it on your own, but think about the wind: heading not always the same as the track  Wink
Safe flying Big grin

Well it is a 727 there was no GPS when they flew. Before I taught my self VOR navigation it was frustrating flying the plane. But its a great classic and alot of fun to fly. Anyway here is a little way to get around doing VOR-VOR navigation. Before you fly the 727 start the flight with any default plane. Lets just say the C172. When your in the 172 cockpit switch the NAV/GPS switch to GPS. Than load up your 727. Now when you use the ILS Nav hold auto pilot function is will act as a GPS hold. Just make sure you not going to need to make any VOR or ILS approaches because the only way to turn it back to radio navigation going to another plane.
Have fun flying!
