How Do You Organize Your Collection

Fri Mar 21, 2008 3:00 pm

Ok, I'm doing a project in school where I contact airlines (if you want to see it, go to the site mentioned in my profile). The end of the year is rapindly approaching. I might get some of my friends to help me organize my collection. I'm starting to make the database for it, but I need help setting categories. I've received postcards, safety cards, letters, mousepads, lanyrads, calendars, IF magazines, airline overview magazines/brochures, model planes, keychains, paper tags, luggage tags, a hat, and a backpack so far. Should I organzine them by airline or product type? I was thinking flat things like postcards and safety cards I will keep in a folder or something.

Feel free to tell us how you organize your collection.

Interesting question. I collect safety cards and sick bags, and I still don't know how to organize my collection.

IF magazines

How do you collect/organize IF magazines? Every month, every airline issues new edition. If you would collect every month it would be almost impossible to finish collection.

Airline (alphabetically) and by time of issuance
Safety cards are organized by that and aircraft type (alphabetically)
I convert Jet A and 100LL into noise.

Some airlines I contact send an IF Mag. With Spanair, they are giving my Spanish class copies of Spanorama every month I think from Sep. to May or something. Shoud I organize by date of issue, airline, size of mag?
