Book Recommendations

I want to recommend three very good book.
The first one is Northbound Lady a great book in English and German:

Quote:
The north polar flight routings from Europe to Asia, with their remote emergency airports and unique landscape are among the most spectacular airways in the world. This book joins the last big Trijet the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 on her journey via Greenland and the North Polar Sea to the fuel stop in Alaska and further via the Bering Sea
to Japan. The layover in Fairbanks gives a fascinating insight into live at 40° below zero and artic aviation with bush pilots and over fifty year old veteran airliners still flying the skies of Alaska.

It is expensive but has amazing pics please check it out here:

The second one is a great book in German and English as well about Frontier Airlines:

The third one is a book in German only about the Caravelle, for fans of classic jets a must have since it is a great book about a very great aircraft with amazing pictures and lots of history from the days before 737 and A320 have invaded our skies:

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

I own that book and it has a lot of amazing pictures in it of the MD11F! Expensive? Maybe but with every booko selled you help the "Cargo Human Care"! The project supported by Lufthansa Cargo in Nairobi!

I don't know the other 2 books, but they look pretty good as well!

I just bought the MD 11 book and don´t have it yet, but it looks amazing. Pictures of the beautiful landscape of Alaska, the MD 11 and other classic aircraft like the Dc 6 what do you want more !!!!

I received the Caravelle book last week and it is definitely worth it. I did not know much about the history of the Caravelle and it was interesting to read. I always appreciate books about classic aircraft, the Caravelle is definitely one of the best looking jet airliners ever build.

Regarding the Frontier book, Dietmar Plath is one of the best aviation photographers in the world, the only disadvantage of it.....too many A32x pictures  Wink

P.S.
@Wilco
I was thinking that you own that book already  Wink

Yeah Dietmar Plath is indeed doing an excellent job. But who wants a book with so many A320s?! I don't  duck

Actually it was a xmas gift from LH Cargo to every pilot in 2007. The photographer used to fly MD11Fs for LH Cargo and is now back at LH classic flying passengers...
