Flight Simulators

Sun Sep 14, 2008 6:27 pm

Can anyone recommend any flight simulator software that works well on Macs?
I tried a programme called Flight Gear, which had a version for OS 10.4, but it had a number of issues and was terribly slow.

Does any one have any recommendations for Macs-- either free software or for purchase?

Look forward to your responses.

X-Plane is for Mac I think. Not that i'm sure if it'd work on 10.4, but who knows.

Other than that, I don't know. I'm a Macbook/Win XP person but I only use Leopard for college work (Basically only GarageBand etc)

I'm not very familiar with Macs myself, but as stated in the above post, I do believe that X-Plane is available for the Mac.

I have the PC version of X-Plane 9, but I haven't used it, so I don't have a first hand account of how good it is. But from what I have heard, its supposed to be very, very good.

X-Plane is very very good, you can almost feel the difference in how responsive the joystick is and how smooth the plane flies - thought it could be just my joystick. In fact for me, it gets too realistic

I have X-Plane 9. The only problem I'm having is downloading airport scenery and airplane equipment failures option.
