FS9 Scenery That Includes Its Own AI Traffic

Thu Sep 18, 2008 7:44 pm

It seems like all the scenery these days leave out AI traffic (static or moving) with the advantage of the user to use AI Traffic tools to add in their own traffic. I do not have that knowledge but I would like to get some scernry that already has traffic or even static planes:
eg Simflyers World Airports 2, Eddw by Oliver (I forgot his last name) etc. I am interested in a few of the Aerosoft products ( more Heathrow than anything). What products out there already have traffic OR is anyone willing to guide me through installing AI Traffic (I tried this with one user but he went MIA about a month or two ago).
Thanks!
Andre

Hi,

Unfortunately it's only for the Uk so I guess it kinda depends if that's the area required but the Uk2000 sceneries by Gary Summons used to have static aircraft (and also there were some files for traffic with GA aircraft (using the default Fs2004 aircraft)) released at one point too. Not sure if they're still like that but thought it might be worth mentioning.

Also I used to use ProjectAi installers to add traffic for a few airlines and it was quite easy at the time (and not too bad on framerates) but then I guess you need to make sure the scenery works with it etc.

Finally just thought I'd mention how a lot of Fs2000 scenery (some of which works in Fs2004) and even Fs98 scenery (most of which unfortunately doesn't work in Fs2004) has static aircraft. I think it used to be much more common before flightsim started having Ai aircraft. I still like it though too because with a Sempron system(!) I really don't have the FPS to even use Ai mostly but it can add a nice ambiance (for lack of a better word!).

Hope it might help a little (at least from one point of view),

Pierre.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I noticed that most older scenery has that traffic already in it. My question is, how is the quliaty of the buildings and such in comparasion to FS9? Another issue for me would be the old liveries. I like Word Traffic but when I taxi around Manchester, UK I see a BA 737 in landor scheme.

Hi,

Regarding old liveries Gary Summons Uk2000 (at least the version I have) definitely has some of that(!) (Also some of my static planes have hollow wheels sometimes which is even more weird (make that see-through hollow wheels!).

I think these days WorldofAi is more popular but for airlines ProjectAi used to be really easy to install (I think they still have the old installer files in their library archive). I just had a look and I think mainly you just need to register and then go to their file library. Then if you download the Pai installer (Downloads/ProjectAi Fs2004 packages) and the airlines you want (PAi Library Archive/Pai Packages) then it really is I think as easy as unzipping the installer files into a folder of your choice and then also the airline package file (a .Pai file) and the running the installer PaiInstaller.exe. Everything else is automatic and it will install the planes/routes etc.for whatever airlines you like. Obviously though please take care, especially if you have a Fs2004 installation you want to keep in prime condition etc. because I'm not sure how easy it is to automatically uninstall Pai Airlines (though manually it isn't that hard though I think too).

Hope it might help a little (although haven't instlled a PAi or other Ai airline myself also for 1-2 yrs. too so please read any manuals etc. if possible/interested too),

Rgds,

Pierre.

I'd highly recommend visiting http://www.world-of-ai.com/ and try it out. Their installer does all the work for you, so you only have to focus on what airline you would like to see in your sim.

On top of that, WoAI have permission to use some of the best models, repaints and flightplans around, so you're pretty much getting the best quality available.
