Mon Dec 08, 2008 12:43 am

Hey everybody. I am upgrading my AI fleet. I utilize the best I can through aardvark. However filling other aircrafts are a pain. I need good A320, A319, ERJ-145, CRJ-200/700. Any help is appreciated.

Hey no problem man! (their all available in Avsim I believe). When I first started adding AI, I used ProjectAI, bit in my opinion, their models are complete junk compared to others such as AI Aardvark, The Fruit Stand, EvolveAI/DJC, and Alpha India. So I eventually got rid of most of the PAI planes (a few are the only models availbe though, like S340 and ATRs).

So my advice...leave PAI as a last resort.

Project AI doesnt even release new stuff anymore --- the best is World of AI. Tons of AI packages including Russian aircraft.

The one complaint I have though is for some reason on all of the AN12 packages, the AI aircraft crash when landing and dissappear. Hmmm.

I apologize for going off topic, but it's been a very long time since I've done anything FSX related. Would any of you kindly offer some assistance in how I install this massive World of AI add-on. Thank you.

Hi, I would be interested in that as well. I am new to AI so sorry if this has been discussed and solved but I noticed some of the aircarft have their nose in the air while parked at the gate. If I zoom in and/or out its fixed but when I return to cockpit 1:00 view" it goes back to sideways. Same thing with seeing landing gear in the middle of the fusalage or other parts not where they are supose to be.

You have to be a member to use Project AI. It doesn't take anything, just signing up. They tend to have a large selection of planes and paints that other groups don't have. My ai fleet is something like this...

Ai-aardvark - DC-9s, Fokker jets, Boeing, ERJ-170s, ERJ-190s

The Fruit Stand - 777s, A330s, A340s, A300s

Evolveai (or DJC or Malcontent) - ERJ-145s, A32Xs, A300s

CDAI - CRJs

JBAI - Do 328

Alpha India - Do 328JET

Fernando Martinez - BAe 146

Project AI - all the rest

Project AI models (and also UT traffic models) might be a bit rough around the edges but they give very good fps when used in large numbers (like around the London area and NY for example), AI aircraft are always a bit of a compromise between level of detail+ quality of the liveries and frame-rates.

Other problems (certainly with some of the WoAI models) with the aircraft are their unrealistic/erratic flying behaviours whereby they might seem to fall out of the sky during short final and problems with the vertical speed at landings which can be so fast that the aircraft seem to fall through the runway on touchdown and subsequently disappear.

other good models are

FSP for the 744 and 777 and all Airbii
SKJ for most of the Russian models (good frame-rates ,excellent eye candy)
NBAI (Nic Black's AI) for a lot of military models
HTAI for F16 and some GA models
UKMIL most for European/British military models (heavy on the frame-rates though)
For Ships used as AI you might want to look here; http://fs-shipyards.com

Well,I have finally mastered adding my own AI . I still check WOAI daily, though. I am also trying to find an Evolve AI DC-10-40 base pkg. I read it has been discontinued.
