What Is A Good Add-on For FSX?

Thu Jan 29, 2009 1:12 pm

I am ready to get a new aircraft for my FSX collection. I have been with the Maddog for well over a year now and I must say I got my moneys worth out of it! I will continue to fly that but I was looking at Level-D, or maybe the Flight 1 ATR, as a new add-on, but I want to hear what you would recommend for a desk top aviator such as myself.

P.S.
Anyone out there have the Super MD-80 professional?

They have an awesome TWA Lockheed 1649 Constellation. It has a working VC, accurate sound, and looks fantastic. When you download it, it says it's for FS9, but it works perfectly in X. That, of course, is assuming that you're interested in that sort of thing.

Erm, there are too many great add-ons out. But take a look in that:
PMDG MD11 - http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/prod/fsx/md11.html

As I don't use FSX, I never flown on Super MD80 Pro but others says that is excellent.

Hmmmmmm....Overall for me I would say WOAI , but my favorite right now is the HID light upgrade. BIG difference especially on AI aircraft. I'm gonna also include Military AI Works even though they don't have FSX complete packages. ( They have to be converted which is cool too. Gotta learn.
Airline photography. Whether they're fully clothed, butt naked, having issues or confused I'm taking pictures!!

WOAI is no FSX addon, but a pure FS8 addon that FSX still can emulate, but it cannot look better in FSX than it looks in FS8 or FS9. If you doubt, edit the mdl files with Notepad and you will see...

The Level-D 767 is an excellent add on. I have had it for about a year now and love every Minuit of it. I highly recommend it.

Also level-D is working on a 757 add on that will come out sometime this year i believe as well.

I don't agree. I don't like the quality of the sounds, the panel or the interior. I feel it is a lower quality than PMDG 747-400X and the MD11 (the current quality king) - it's the one pay addon that I regretted buying.

If you must have just one - get the MD11, it is truly superb. The sounds on it are excellent, the systems simulation appears superb (even Wilco737 on here seems to be happy with it).

The detail and quality of the graphics is superb, the overall experience / immersion factor seems well above everything else we've seen. If I show anyone FSX - the MD11 is the plane I use to show off what FSX can be like, on the IGS13 into Kai-tak, no less.  Wink

Can you get the 767 for FSX?

JustFlight did a 757 game, with loads of good detail, but it taked ages for the A/P to work, so I gave up!  Smile

http://www.justflight.com/product.asp?pid=342 < theres the link for the 757 game, they do sales in USD too!
