Wild Blue Internet And FS9's Real World Weather?

Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:04 am

After years of living on dial up, we have upgraded to wildblue satilite as of tomorrow. WIth this we have a certain threshold of downloads we can do in a 30 day rolling cycle period and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how Flight Sim's real world weather would affect this?

Shouldn't be a factor to you. Depending on which plan you're going on and what your FAP allowance is, average use shouldn't be a problem. I've been a WB customer for a couple opf years now on the Pro Package which gives me 17Gb down and 5Gb up/30 days and the only times I've been warned has been right after doing about 4/6Gb of downloads of TV shows I wanted to watch. If you want to keep an eye on your usage, this link will become your friend...

Hope that helps...

Doubt it'll be a problem.

To give you a comparison - with Active Sky Advanced - you'll get probably 10 or so weather updates, each at around ~400kb.

Thanks for the quick replys, what about airplanes? I am on World of AI right now downloading like crazy, I have the basic plan but I am not sure how, for example, 8.20MB translates into KB?
