I'm still waiting - the video card is on back-order.
Maybe during the week I might get it...
I'm mainly not going NVidia because it seems the currently available ones will be superseded shortly and I need a video card now, rather than whenever the next-generation NVidia is released.
Speaking of those sorts of things, anyone tried the solid-state drives? I'm looking at some Intel ones that look quite interesting. Might be another way to unlock more performance. Maybe I just do an incremental upgrade of the whole lot.
Thinking of something like
Intel® Desktop Board DX58SO
Intel Core I7 - 920 2.66ghz
Corsair 6GB Twin3X 240-pin DDR3 1333Mhz PC-10600 Triple Pack (3x 2048mb sticks) w/heat spreader, 7-7-7-20
ATI Radeon HD 5870
Seasonic M12D 850w PSU (modular cable variety)
That should do for the moment. I have the Antec P180 case that does have very good cooling properties, plus I'm very skilled at cable origami, so my PC's tend to be very neat inside.
