FS9 + Addons Switch To Laptop

Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:46 am

Hello fellow simmers,

Next year I will be going away for my post-secondary education and want to bring one computer game with me (guess which one). :-P

Now I know FS9 is perfectly capable of being run on a laptop but I have a slew of add-ons that I use and want to know how well I can run the game with the add-ons based on specs I provide (for all you computer geniuses out there). I will provide my laptop's specs and the add-ons I use.

Laptop Specs:

AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core Processor for Notebook PC QL-60 (1.9GHz, 1MB L2 cache).
250GB (5400RPm) hard-Drive
Lightscribe Super Multi 8X DVD+-RW Doble Layer Support
5-1 Digital Media Reader
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics with Shared Graphics Memory
Windows vista Home Premium (32-BIT)

PSS 757
PSS 777
LVLD 767
PMDG 737
PMDG 747
Wilco A320
Wilco Embraer

Aerosoft LHR:, MAD, LIS, BCN,
Cloud9 LAX

So how well could I run FS9 on my laptop without killing frames? I don't need it to high, 20-30 works for me.

Thanks for the help!

With those addons, I wouldn't even attempt it. You'd need at least 4GB of RAM and a 2.4GHz or higher processor, and you have a lot of memory intensive addons. I would only try the game, I definitely wouldn't try installing the addons.
