What's The Problem With My Computer?

Sat Apr 03, 2010 12:53 pm

Hello everyone, it's yet another computer problem! I've been playing FSX since April 2008 and fallen in love with it, because of the addons!

Last October, I decided to upgrade my desktop computer in order to play FSX more efficiently and have maximum graphic settings for WoW (which I has since stopped playing). This computer is great, it could hit 60 fps (maximum) in WoW but when it comes to FSX, it becomes temperamental (talk about a computer with PMS...).

My most recent problem is that it always gets very laggy and a major FPS drop when I use certain planes or in certain regions. Such as Wilco 737 PIC, PMDG 747 or in the USA. I can never go beyond 8 fps when using 737 PIC (I forgot what FPS I got using PMDG) and sometimes my PMDG panel screens will freeze up, according to PMDG ops they call it "memory starvation" as I was using Windows 32 bit?

- I use 2D cockpit view when flying
- ALL my scenery settings are set to 0 (except water at 1x)

Here are my computer specs.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 3072MB RAM
Page File: 1093MB used, 5046MB available
Windows Dir: C:Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit Unicode
Display: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

Any help is deeply appreciated. If you need screenshots of my graphic settings in FSX, I'd most gladly provide it.
One way I will fly around the world!
