What do you think?

Also, is Windows 7 going to run FS2004 as good (or better) as XP can (I'm now getting FSX as it would be like starting all over again)?

Thanks

Quoting BMIFlyer (Reply 1):
Antec True Power 650W

Get 750W at the very least

Quoting BMIFlyer (Reply 1):

Intel Core i7 2600K

Be careful, VERY careful. The new i7s have been known to have major glitches and recalls. They have been solved by now, but I have no doubt there's plenty of those buggy ones still out there on the market

Quoting BMIFlyer (Reply 1):
4gb Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz (System Max 8gb)

Shot for 6gb at the very least.

Quoting BMIFlyer (Reply 1):
Ati 1gb RADEON HD 6850 GDDR5 running at 4000Mhz DX11

If you're gonna go single card, get a 6970. Otherwise get two 6850s in crossfire.

If you get the 64bit version you should see a decent jump in performance. I know I did when I switched from 32 to 64 bit.

I'm looking to possibly get a new computer around the holidays. I am also looking for the impossible. A laptop that can run FSX well...and hopefully one under $1500, as that's my credit line at a certain computer retailer.

FSX needs an I5 or I7 and a very powerful GPU, the Mobility Radeon 5870 is really sufficient, as is the NVIDIA GTX 480M - the ASUS G73 series is fine for FSX, but I'm afraid above your limit. The Radeon 5850 should do well too, 5770 is still OK, but do not go below 770 - the first digit is completely irrelevant for FSX.

MSI GX660R should be inside, or Acer 7750G, as examples.
