FSX....how To Modify "aircraft Type" Menu?

Sun Jan 15, 2012 1:51 pm

Greetings all,

I'm trying to figure out how to change the "aircraft type" menu in FSX (on the free flight/select aircraft page) to show different sub-menus. The main thing I'm trying to do it divide the PMDG 737 planes. Right now, there are 4 options....737-600, -700, -800, -900. The 700/800/900 versions have both winglet and non-winglet versions, and eventually PMDG will release the "ER" and "BBJ" versions as well. The menu doesnt relect this...it just shows ALL of the 700's, ALL of the 800s, etc. How do I modify it so that the "aircraft type" pull-down menu will show -700, -700WL, -700ER, etc?

Many thanks

When you go to the aircraft.cfg file, you should see lines titled 'ui_typerole='. You'll have to change that for each individual repaint entry, and replace "Commercial Airliner" (or whatever it says) with the appropriate model desgination.
