I'm at my home airport of IND. Thinking of maybe either doing some practice runs for a Super Bowl flyover (F-14) or running a few charter flights in the PC-12.

I've been flying from Moscow (DME) to Kazan and return (KZN) today on Level D-767. It's an A319 in real life but S7 have 767 equipment so I'm using FSX poetic license

Have a full S7 itineary planned out for this week...will be fun

Come on, that is booring.

As a matter of fact, I think I will have a go at the next leg of the tour around CIS tonight - couple days ago, I left MNS for LED, today it is out to GOJ, and then its out to SVX and NJC.

Done properly - flying the Tu-154M

I prefer engines to oversized hairdryers; and landing on concrete rather than in the forest!  Gotta love Tupolevs!

Come on now, each and every of the NK-8-2Us produces over 23Klbs of thrust, more than your typical CFM56-5A4 on that A319...

currently enroute on IVAO as MAH745 HEL-BUD in honor of Malev Hungarian Airlines.

I was watching this flight yesterday on FlightRadar24 as it tracked south to Budapest. In the evening, caught the exact same a/c (I forget the reg) as it crossed the Irish Sea. Such a pity for Malev and Hungary.

I just finished a 6hr 30min trip from FRA to KJA on LH Cargo MD11....it's frickin' cold here!

I'm in my PMDG 747-400X doing a quick flight from YMML-YSSY. Right now I'm descending through FL230 passing overhead TARAL. Next I'll probably take my brand new ATR72 from Flight1 to YSTW and YBBN. I'll post a few pics from my recent flights shortly.

Currently flying ORD-IAD with a UA B772. Due to a slight oversight, I am at FL300 at about 13 miles out from IAD. I got sidetracked and forgot about the sim. I'll have to circle a lot as I descend, but I'll get there eventually.

I am flying the PMDG Boeing 737 NGX all over...

Right now I am flying from EGKK (Gatwick) to GBYD (Banjul, Gambia) – Boeing 737 series 800 Thomson Airways livery...

It’s one of the longer B73NGX flights I think, UK to Banjul is 5 hours 50 minutes return is 6 hours and 20 minutes...

Fun!

Thu Feb 16, 2012 1:00 pm

I recently bought a PMDG Boeing 737NGX (worth every cent) and have been putting it to good use:

Auckland-Whenuapai-Auckland a few times in an Air New Zealand -800WL .
Auckland-Wellington in the default PMDG livery -900WL.
Christchurch-Queenstown in an Alliance Airlines -800WL.
A few flights around Rio De Janeiro in the GOL10 years livery (PR-GTF) -800WL.
Helsinki-St Petersburg in a NordStar -800WL.

Prior to all this, I began a flight in a Hong Kong Airlines 747-8i (Skyspirit 2011) from LAX-HKG. The flight was going very well until I needed to go to work. I left the flight with the autopilot activated and the aircraft at FL380 somewhere south of Alaska. When I returned home after work the aircraft had crashed somewhere between Nagoya and Osaka. OOPs

Next flight: St Petersburg-Arkhangelsk in the NordStar 737...
First to fly the 787-9 with Air New Zealand and ZK-NZE (2014-10-09, NZ103)

I'm rather new, both to A.net and the FS world. But I usually do rather short flights. Typically EHAM-EGLL or KLAX-KLAS. Flights that can easily be done in about an hour. What's the charm of doing transatlantics? I mean, it can't be that interesting to watch the autopilot search for the optimal thrust setting while cruising over the atlantic?   Or am I just being weird here?

On topic: I'm on my second approach attempt on a very foggy day in EGLL, coming from EHAM in a KLM 737-800. I was told by ATC to go around on first attempt as a BA 772ER got a liiittle too close on short final

Well, I used to fly short legs all the time too. Lately I really enjoy flying the long runs. Of course you don't sit in front of your virtual cockpit for 8 straight hours, that would indeed be very boring and lame. I take off, climb and a little into the cruise, I leave my computer and do other stuff. Inbetween I check if everything is alright, do the occasional step climb or look outside the window if I'm just overflying something interesting.
The "charm" of that is that you land in a different region of the world and really feel like you have flown there, because 8 hours have passed since you took off and you could have flown that onboard a real plane in the same time as well. I personally don't like using timelapse, it just feels weird if you land in IAD 1 hour after you took off in LHR...

AMS-LHR sounds cool.
Tomorrow I'm flying from ANC to KIX in my FedEX MD-11F...that's some 8hrs again.

Yeah, I can kinda relate to that one. I did one flight from KLAX to KLAS in the early morning. Climbed out of KLAX over the ocean with the rising sun in my face, turned all the way around and climbed over the surrounding mountains with the sun starting to clear the morning's haze, eventually landed in the desert of Nevada. It was quite nice to see the ground turning from green and vigorous to desert

Did Denpasar to Sydney with BA Concorde G-BOAF, then Sydney to Noumea with Concorde G-BOAF. Currently still in Noumea. This evening, might get to Hawaii if I've got enough range to do it.

Er, yes, looks like I can do that easily with about 800km in hand as far as range goes.

The approach into Noumea was annoying, first vectored for RWY29, then it changed to RWY11, so had to back-track around. Prefer RWY11 anyhow - it's an easier landing without having to do the "slam dunk' style approach over the hills at the other end.

Off from school and before I start work for the summer have had some nice time off. Since May 10th have flown.

MIA-TPA-DCA-STL-MCI-LAX-SFO-LAX-LAS-LAX all with the PMDG NGX
Then got in the old but trusty PMDG 744 for LAX-AKL
Then AKL-SYD in the NGX
SYD-NRT in the old in two ways RFP742 in FS9
NRT-HKG NGX

Just landed about a hour ago from HKG-SEA nice 12.5hr flight with the 744. I am also for the first time using FS2CREW for the NGX, the voice version and it is awesome!

I plan on the rest of the week getting into SAN and also doing a flight from SEA up to KIT, SIT and JUN with the 738.

Just over halfway from SYD to AKL, decided to use a NZ 763 instead of a NZ 777 or EK 388 for 2 reasons. a) The Project Airbus 388 is such a slow climber! b) NZ doesn't use 77Ws on this route in real life. 500 NM out of Auckland currently, cruising at FL350.

Left Noumea, went to Honolulu. Rotated off runway 29 in Noumea at 193kts!

Loaded up with 94.3T of fuel as well. Covered the long distance in 3h:19min, with a maximum altitude of 60,125ft (yes, the magical FL600), and the lowest temperature along the way was -82C at around 52,500ft. As I got further north and further east, the temperature increased to around -70C.

Arrived in Honolulu on RWY04R, touching down at around 155kts. Parked at the stand with about 12T of fuel left over.

I've just started yet another RTW trip. Here's hoping I actually make it this time furtherest I've previously made it before giving up is Santiago and that's going Eastbound from Australia   . This time I don't have a pre planned routing and I'm not restricting myself to the one aircraft. I'm just going to decide where the next stop is on the whim.

First leg is Alice Springs (YBAS) - Brisbane (YBBN) roughly a third of the way there now. I had a nice 98 knot tailwind earlier now down to 93 knots. from Brisbane I'll probably take my Jetstream 41 down to Sydney (YSSY) via either Coffs Harbour (YSCH) or Tamworth (YSTW) then something else across to New Zealand.

Just crashed a DL 787 about 500 yards short of 30L @MSP. Grrrr....

Enroute Tromso -> Poliarny on my EI 319. RTW trip.
Nothing compares to taking off in an empty 757 with full thrust!

Out of Honolulu for Anchorage in Alaska using BA Concorde G-BOAF. Just departed from runway 4R, with a B737 taking off on parallel runway 4 left. Those passengers on the B737 would have had a great view. After 9 minutes, I'm just going through Mach 1.0

Arrived in Anchorage on runway 32, visual approach. Touched down very smoothly in front of a couple of waiting aircraft.
