Is This DL L1011 Part Of A Larger Display?

Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:21 pm

I picked up this DL L1011 today for $5, at a St. Louis area antique shop. I was wondering if it was part of larger display or was just a stand alone item? It has three small holes along the center line to hang it up.

I believe that they were from travel agencies. Back when I was a kid I was walking through the mall and thought it was so cool when I saw one at this travel agency office. The travel agent was actually kind enough to let me have it as they had an extra one. I also used to get a lot of knick knacks from the airlines back when my dad used to work at ONT. When Delta started flying to ONT they had a few of those but they were 762's again I was fortunate to get one of the 762's. Boy that was about 25-27 years ago though and I have no idea what happened to them.
