For those flightsim enthusiasts who like something a little exotic I have a MS flight you may be interested in.
After purchasing the PMDG 737 NGX and having test flown it out of Boeing Field to the point where I felt confident of flying her without any major mishap, transitioning from the PMDG 737 of FS9 it didn't take long, I was really keen to fly her based on an Anet trip report I had read by Anet member airpearl, posted back in Sept 2nd 2011, titled "A Lone 737 Across a Vast Expanse of Blue." If you haven't had a chance to read it I highly recommend it, it is one of the best with great pictures, full of history regarding the legacy of WWII in the Pacific and all the testing that took place after.
The trip report airpearl originally flew was with a pre merger Continental as flight CO957. I myself flew post merger on United UAL 172, using a 737-800 ETOPS of couse, all the details, such as duration, departure and arrival times can be found on Flightaware, but in a nut shell your flight departs Honolulu PHNL at 6.55am and ends on the island of Guam PGUM later that evening, flying via the island of Majuro PKMJ, then onto Kwajalein PKWA, Kosrae PTSA, Pohnpei PTPN and Chuuk PTKK, with alot of challenging 6000ft runways along the way to test your mettle, quick turnarounds, a real world milk run.
If you decide to go fly it, I gurantee you wont regret it. Let me know what you think.
Also feel free to add any MS flights you may have recreated in your flightsim, based on your own personal journey's or flights by plane, both private and commercial, were you able to use the same type of aircraft or not? How different was it from real world. Did you learn anything? I myself have a better understanding of the general geography of Micronesia as a result of flying in the virtual world.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy
