Any Good Payware GA Aircraft For FSX?

Wed Mar 21, 2012 11:13 pm

Got my PPL a few months ago and I'm looking for high-quality payware general aviation aircraft to fly/get a feel of before I spend a bunch of money on a checkout in real life. I'm specifically looking for a nice Cessna 182/206 or a Cirrus SR20/22 but I'm open to all recommendations. Thanks in advance.

I think Carenado makes some pretty good GA airplanes. They make both the C182 and C206. Eaglesoft makes a pretty nice SR22. IMHO, the best GA airplane period is the RealAir Beech Duke Turbine.

I don't know how your going to get a feel for it playing FSX, unless you're getting an instrument rating.
But I agree with the above, Carenado is good for GA planes.

Hi!

I once tried (and failed!) to get a pilot's license in a Diamond Katana which is a nice 2 seat trainer/touring plane. It has low wings, is made of composites and has excellent visibility from the canopy. It also has electric pitch trim and a proper throttle with a handle! I now have the aerosoft version which looks and operates almost exactly like the real thing. In fact I think I enjoy flying in FsX more than real life and it is a lot cheaper too! There is also a pretty good freeware Katana for Fs9.

Many thanks,

Pierre

I think there have been a few threads on this before. Carenado, Eaglesoft, Realair and Iris all do GA products. For a Cirrus, I think you'll have to look to Eaglesoft.
Me: (Lining up on final) I shall now select an aiming point. || Instructor: Well, I hope it's the runway...

No. Gulfstream hasn't been very helpful with providing the information that developers would need to do a proper version of their aircraft, so freewaare stuff is all that's available.
