New To Radio Scanners, Need Help

Fri Feb 15, 2013 5:56 am

I am about to buy a radio scanner so that I can listen to ATC and airplanes enroute, but would like to have some advices on what I should buy. I am looking for a hand held radio scanner, around $100-150, though could go up to $200 if the specs are much better.

Also, what should one look for when buying a radio scanner for listening to ATC?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

This is the one I have.

Yupiteru MVT-7100 with all the accessories, charger, antennas and all.

I love it. I take it on trips and air shows and I will keep if for life. I also look for other random stuff on it.
I have tried listening to the International Space Station - so far without luck but it is possible so I shall keep trying.
