Still any explanation for the issue with the clouds under that tail of the aircraft not matching the clouds in the reflection - other than the "its the angle" answer - which I'm not believing. Because why would it apply to only one part of the photo - where in other parts the clouds match perfectly?
negative ghostrider the pattern is full

Those looks quite irregular. Airport grooves (and road grooves) that I've seen are much neater and well defined.

Then this bothers me even more: if the grooves were more defined than those in my pic, surely they would be clearly visible under a few millimetres of water? Would a thin layer of rainwater be that opaque that the grooves could not be clearly seen? There are no identifying features to determine what exactly those lines are. Even with the irregular grooves such as I posted, surely they would be clearly visible under a thin layer of rainwater? And isn't it strange that the effect they produce is . . . exactly the same as you wouild get with a radial filter?

I still don't see how it's possible to mitigate those clouds just under the tail - they WOULD be there in the reflection (as stuff around them is).... but they're not!

At a very low angle? Yes, it would.

I haven't used one of those filters, so I couldn't say.
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

In the Arkex low-angle reflection pic posted earlier, the effect would seem to be perfectly mirror-like, so surely the same would happen here, and nothing would be visible underneath?

Like this (not my pic, btw):
