Image Editors And Scanners

Mon Dec 06, 1999 7:37 am

My scanner isn't the greatest so the pictures are that good either. I was wondering, what image editors you use to sharpen the picture etc.. Is it easy to use? How much does it sell for?

Also what kind of scanners do you have? Are you happy with them?

My scanner was very cheap, about 60.00UK Pounds or about that.

Obviously the better the scanner the better the quality.
But I have been happy with my scans.

I use Corel Photo Paint 9 with excellent results. This is a very expensive software but I was lucky to get my copy from someone going abroad.
Paint Shop Pro is good also.

I would advise going into some software shops or searching the Internet for cheap copies of previous versions of Corel Draw/Photo Paint. I think versions 4 and 5 are very cheap. Some of my shots were used with version 4.

Hope this info helps.

If you get any computing magazines (PCcomputing, PC Week...), you can figure out which scanners are the best. However, I don't pay attention to that section because I really don't need one.

You might want to check on for some scanners (once you found what you want) and for some imaging software. I recommend Adobe Photoshop 5.5.
