What Resolution?

hi everyone.. I have an HP 6100 and with a resolution of 600dpi, 600x800pixels and the images size is always about 500kb but i am still not having any luck uploading my pics. the pics are good quality, and not grainy.
does anyone have a tried and true resolution?

Hi

For a standard size print, scan at 200dpi, import to your photo software and re-size to about 800 x 600pixels.

After that use a JPEG compression prog. like JPEG Wizard and the size should come down a good bit.
