What Camera Do You Use?

I'm sure this topic as been brought up before in this forum, but I can't remember. Can you tell me what camera you use to photograph planes and what you think of it?

I use two cameras, the first is a Canon AE-1. It is a great camera that is not very complicated to use, it is MF and a plesure to use. I also use a Canon EOS Elan IIE, it is a great camera too. I love the 3-point eye controled focus.

Nikon N60 and N70. The N60 is decent but the N70 makes it look like a pre-school toy.

Next on the purchase list is the N80 which I'll have before September. And after that, if needed, I'd look at the N90s and F100.

The F100 will make all of those except the N90 look like a "toy" although, the N80 is looking to be a nice 2nd body.

I use a N90s and a F100. Two of the best cameras I've ever shot.

Im using the Nikon N90s right now, however it may become my back-up camera. Im close to going with either the F5 or F100 as my main camera, still not sure if the F5 is needed for airline photography.I think the lens is what makes the ideal airliner camera, the faster the lens the better is how I look at it, but you can sink some serious money into lenses. I know a guy who shoots at DFW on occasion with a 600mm f4, were talking close to 10,000 dollars he said for that lens.

Not to mention the helluva shoulder problems with those lenses.

I've toyed around with one at the store, but it's quite a dent in the pocket.

I use a Canon F1 (old style) and Canon T90 - am gradually upgrading lenses to Canon "L" series as I find them 2nd hand. Despite being an obsolete line, the FD Canons are of very high quality, and given my investment in FD mount lenses, I doubt I'll "upgrade".

Nikon F100 and the F90X (N90s for those of you in N. America). Ocassionally, I take along my two "oldies" (an FM2 and an F) for a little work-out as well.

The two "modern" AF cameras work nicely, although the film-advance motor on the 90X seems quite noisy at times. As for the two MF cameras, they work just as well, although I'm really getting rusty at manual-focusing thanks to lack of practice. A few ergonomic peculiarities with the F, which I guess is excusable given the fact that it's a first-generation SLR.

I use a PENTAX ME super, takes really good pics, downside is that it's only got a 50mm lens. Quite a boxy camera as well, not like the new ones that are all rounded.

i have a question along these lines... is it possible to get excellent shots at fairly close range with a good 75-300mm lens? or should I not be so lazy and just switch to my smaller lens for the closer range shots? Not REALLY close shots mind you, of course, but ones around the 75mm range...

Oh, and by the way i have a canon EOS rebel S.

Hi there,
I have a good old Nikon F3 with MD-4 motor drive.
The lenses I have are a Nikon Zoom-NIKKOR 25-50mm f4, a Tokina Zoom 50-250mm f4 and a Sigma Mirror Telephoto 600mm f8. I mostly use Fuji 100 or 400 film.
Ive had my Nikon F3 for about 10 years and I love it, I'll never need a new camera unless I get a medium or large format camera.
Oh I have a Sony Handicam video camera too that I sometimes use when Im out for the day "planespotting".

Hi all,

I use a Canon EOS500 with three lenses;

Canon 35 - 80
Canon 70 - 210
Cosima 100 - 400

My experience is however that most of the time it is the scanner that makes the work worth it to added.
Till may this year I'm used the HP 5200C with gives me at the end (Not speaking at a year ago) a success of 80% added to the database. I bought a new scanner in june, the HP photosmart S20 and guess what, I have now 99% accepted to the database and most (95%) without warnings. On this moment I have 2.300 photos at A.N.

p.s. Thx all to use this forum, I'm learning every day from you.
