Scan Quality

Sun Sep 03, 2000 1:13 am

Please help me get some photos accepted! I'm using an Acerscan 620UT to scan 4 x 6 photos at 600 dpi. They are of proper size (1024x768) and format (jpg). I'm using Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and sending as highest quality. I've tried the same photo untouched, and various different manipulations using photoshop. Also what dpi should I use to scan slides to upload? Any help from you experts out there?   thanks/joe

To be honest I don't think you're going to be able to get the resoulution required for slides on a flat bed - the resolution should be at least 2400dpi. The various "adaptors" available for scanning slides on a flatbed are IMHO pretty near worthless.

Cheers,

You need to sharpen your photos and add some contrast (when necessary). Click here to see one of your photos after being worked in Adobe Photo Deluxe. Sorry for using your photo but it's just to show you what can be done to improve it.
