I am a Canon man, but from what I have read the Minolta QTsi is a good camera for beginners. It is small compact and easy to use. It can use all Minolta Maxum lenses (I think) and is nicely priced. That is all I can tell you about it. I don't suppose I can sell you on a Canon EOS Rebel 2000?
