Min 800/600... Max 1024/728... Odd

Sat Dec 02, 2000 1:46 pm

I find the image limit/requirement here to be delightfully odd: The minimum requirement is 800/600, which is rather "square" for a 35mm image, and yet the max is more appropriate and "rectangular" like a 35mm image, 1024/728. Now, don't you think the minimum should be either 800/500 or 900/600?

Note that i am NOT complaining, just curious.

The standard aspect ratio of a 36mmX24mm slide/neg is 1.5. Whereas, the aspect ratio of a 800X600, or 1024X768 MONITOR image is 1.33333~. That's the difference. The aspect ratio of 35mm image differs from your monitor. That's why displayed pictures appear different than "real pictures", provided that they are scanned/uploaded full-frame, and not cropped...
