PhotoSadness/OneThatGotAway

Sun Dec 10, 2000 11:04 pm

With clouds coming for the next three nights, I figured I would try a big moon/jet photo. Cold but undaunted, I waited and studied and waited for the departure track off BOS R 27 to cross my view of the moon. Finally

with a Canon digital slr, a Canon 600mm, Canon 2x teleconverter which all equal to 1800mm..Camera setting at 400asa. 1/250th @ F8.....After all that...The photo is slightly more blurry than I need, thank you. But the experience of waiting and finally having it cross the moon with the heat from the engines visible is all a very cool (if not cold-brrr) experience.

Mark, that is SWEET! So what if it's blurry, it's the athmosphere that counts bud.

Cheers!

Persistance will find a way. Very cool pic  ! (don't blow it up too much though)

PS. You want to warm up get in the path of that jet blast, it'll only warm you up by 300*F

Mark,

again come down to sunny MEX we had a full moon as well last night, a beautiful one as well and it is hot down here.......87F/30C......I guess I will stay down here and spend the winter. I heard BOS is really cold.

If I was home I would have offered you some hot coffee or so. The spot is only 2 minutes from home.

Keep warm.

Vasco,
You are the lucky one in Mexico. Sun, Beer, Buritos...We have none of that here in BOS..although we may have good Bean Buritos (Beantown haha) I photographed the moon from the Boston side not Winthrop..
Cheers.

Mark,

Rwy 27 ( true it is heading west and not east) see 3 weeks away from home and I forget everything.
At what time did you take that shot?
Next time you have to be lucky and have a 742 taking off, that would probably be the shot of the year!

Regards
Vasco

P.S. Sun / beer / tacos and the most beautiful woman you can imagine. Unfortuanetly it is really work why I am down here.

Great Shot! yeah, I'd love to see that one more sharp but still, great job of waiting and choosing the exact right moment when all the elements were lined up.....

That is indeed a nice shot, I find it to be quite sharp for the focal length/speed you used! At 1200mm and 1/250th, that would be the same as shooting 50mm with a 1/8th or 1/15th exposure. Great pic Mark, keep up the good work.

Yah..I guess I would agree that if the blurriness was beefed up a bit it would be most appreciated..But
I don't mind. For a fellow photographer, I think it just looks marvelous. Just the way it is..I say.
