Getting Published Using D/SLR Camera

Thu Feb 01, 2001 12:11 am

Does anyone knows if I can offer a digital pictures made by SLR camera to the magazines? I understand that slides are more welcome now, but may be some of you have already been published.
Actually the question is: Should I buy digital SLR camera, keeping in mind I'll offer my photos to aviation magazines?

Thank you for your thoughts,

Some aviation mags are starting to accept high-quality digitial photos in place of slides. However, most still reguire chromes. I would contact the magazine(s) you plan to submit photo(s) to and ask their requirements for digital files. Then, obtain a digital camera that is capable of producing the quality they are looking for. However, keep in mind, most ad agencies still require chromes. If you plan to shoot for magazines/news, a quality digital should be fine.

Yes the magazines will taake digital images in some cases. I just had 8 digitals accepted in one magazine and several in another. Although if they have a preference for slides.
