Anyone had the experience of seeing a nice/special photo opportunity but not had the camera or camera ready?
Happened to me twice.
On sunny days I like to take the camera in the back of the car to work just incase there is something nice at the airport. My work looks on to the main runway at Aberdeen. On a particular day I ventured out to work and thought, s***, I have forgot the camera. Thought nothing more of it.
So passing the reception area I had a glance out the window and low and behold....what was there....a Saudi TriStar It was taxiing for departure in beautiful sunshine. I have never felt so sad in all my plane photography days. I think it was taking some Saudi Prince to Balmoral for lunch with the Queen.
The second time was not so heart rendering. It was a very foggy morning at Aberdeen, but clear skies with sun, if you know what I mean.
I was watching the aircraft arrive but never had a radio so did not know what was on finals. Local traffic came and it was great watching them landing through the mist but it wasn't that dramatic...........until......I heard the nose of jet engines in the distance. The camera was in the car then all of a sudden out of the mist came an Air Holland 757 with vortices gallore. The mist was being spread everyhwere.
I was so unhappy
Sorry if the above was long winded but anyone else had similar experiences when you have said to yourself 'S***, where is the camera!
