Man, some of the photos on this site are awesome! I was wondering if anyone has some tips. I am really new at photography, and I am interested almost exclusively in airline photos. I have 3x zoom and a digital camera. I need some basic tips from film or digital camera users.
Question 1: What are the best settings to use for flare/touchdown shots? I don't need to do the pan-blur effect (thought that would be nice, too- maybe just a little later). I mostly use the point-and-shoot mode, but it comes out blurry sometimes. Why? How do you tell a point-and-shoot that your subject is moving (really fast)?
Question 2: How do you get good closeups? Should I get a zoom adapter (for a total of 6x?) I have heard for monoculars or scope-mounted cameras for my make/model. Would that be a good way, or is it too hard to keep it steady?
Some of my photos turn out kind of grainy- is that normal for a digital camera? I thought grain was only a film phenomenon. Like I said, I'm beginner!
