Awesome DAY At Mci!

Wed Mar 21, 2001 5:47 am

Hi everyone! I just spent an awesome morning at my hometown airport, Kansas City International (MCI). We (my dad and little brother and I) went out to the end of runway 19R and parked, getting multiple shots of aircraft as they took off. I stood on top of my dads truck and nearly got knocked over as I tried to follow a American 727 with the camera as it flew over head. I'd say none of those aircraft passed over us higher than 150 feet. It was awesome! I got mostly 737s, except for a Canadair Challenger, and a US Army VIP transport, and a single MD-80. Oh yeah, on Mexico City Avenue I got a UPS DC-8. I was happy b/c I haven't seen too many DC-8s before. We drove back to the terminals after awhile, I got photos at the terminals of 3 Vanguard 732s, a Delta MD-80, a UAL 727-200, Midwest Express DC-9-20, Frontier 737-500, probably more than a dozen Southwest 737s, and a few USAirways Express (Air Midwest) Beech 1900s. I can't wait to develope them!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Frontier has 737-300's. Sounds like you had a good day though. I'm done for spotting at MCO for awhile. After hitting JFK and LAX in the same week, Orlando just doesn't compare. I have about 60 waiting on the uploads, and many more to scan! So at least I'll still have pics to add.

Now I just have to get a scanner to load them up. The MCI photo gallery isn't that great, there aren't alot of pictures in there. I've shot well over 100 shots at MCI total, probably totalling twice as much as they've got in the MCI gallery here!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy I hope I can show them to you guys!
