Jpeg Wizard

Hi all,

After hearing about this program so much I decided to check it out.

What I want to know is what process you go through to reduce the filesize of your pics while keeping the quality acceptable?

Any tips would be appreciated  Smile

Thanks,

Hi Jason. Have you read this on 12032?

"Open up any jpeg from your files.
What you see is in the "input".
Down in the bottom left, there is a lever that is in the "up" position.
Before you move the lever "down", click on the "output".
It will be the same picture as the "input".
Whilst watching the "output" picture, move the lever down.
At first you won't see much difference, but as the lever goes further down, the picture becomes badly compressed.

Each movement of the lever can show the resultant file size if you decide to save the output. Also the equivalent compression ratio if you click on the "info" tab further along to the right."

Usually about two clicks down with the lever is
sufficient then save as.

Gerry,

Thanks for you info.

I just re-scanned one of my most popular uploads of late and put it through JPEG wizard and shaved a whopping 70% off the filesize with virtually no loss of quality!!

Thanks again,
