Heathrow-Concorde-Get Off At Hatton Cross?

Sat Apr 14, 2001 3:40 am

Hi,

I am off to LHR on Tuesday and if I want to see Concorde (and I have special permission to do so from BA) do I get off at Hatton Cross on the Underground(subway)? Then where do I go?

If there are any questions just ask
Thanks

Oh well, that's just fair. When I worked at the tower of LHR last summer, I didn't invite any Airliners.net users to visit me, either. But someone kept arranging tours for stewardesses, or so it seemed. They were there (on the roof terrace) every second day....

Have fun!

Regards

PS: Now I understand: It must be the revenge for my nasty comments about Concordes belonging into museums and out of the skies....  Big grin

PPS: Oh, and does anyone (preferrably IC student, mature and with an English work permit) want a very simple summer job there this summer? I'm afraid I won't be able to take it again, as much as I'd love to....

Out at Hatton Cross and head towards the A30 (southern entrance of station) keep on this side of the road and head east crossing the junction. Concorde is parked ( or was last week) on the left and is easily seen from pavement. If however you are going in close then turn left at the lights. BA is all on the right. Just ask someone they should assist.

Sorry EGKK, but I am afraid you are probably too young to get the job. However, when you are 18+ and studying at univesity, you have a chance.

The reason why I got this job is that the person who I worked for used to be a lecturer at my University, so he presumably thinks we are more reliable than students at other unis and only advertises here.... or maybe he knows that if he only needs 2 or 3 students, it would be stupid to advertise at more than 1 university...

It is a very simple job, a 5-year-old could do it with a bit of practice. I just enter infos about each departing flight and then press buttons at the right times on a Handheld PC, which recorded the times and in the end a statistic about how efficient the pilots are is generated. That's it. Perfect summer job for me - an aviation enthusiast with a severe allergy against hard work in my holidays.

Have fun with the Concordes!
