Charge For Non-commercial Use Of Photo

Fri Apr 20, 2001 6:00 am

How much would you charge for the use of one of your airliners.net pictures? Let's say for a non-commercial report, article, presentation or any other type of work about an aircraft.
Fast answer please.

If its a for a personnal aviation website $0. If it was to be used in the press like a magazine, it really depends on the photo. The real truth, is the press will offer you a price, not you offer them a price. Thats usually how it goes.

From what I hear, photographers get paid around $200 for a photo to be used in the press in some way. It changes though depending on the value of the photo. Its quite difficult to give you a specific price, it depends on the photo and the way it is being used.

Kind regards,
Ahmad

Like Dazed said, if its not for profit, you wont get jack-squat. I've had pics used for a 727 training video, i just asked for a copy of the video; had one used on a website, and they agreed to send me a magazine subscription... just as examples; dont expect to turn a profit on this site...
