Traffic At OST...

Fri Apr 20, 2001 6:42 pm

Hi there,

Ok, slightly different take on spotter info this one.

I have a contact within a cargo charter company who operate a number of aircraft out of Ostend. In exchange for a few prints I did for them last year I have an offer of ramp access at OST anytime I can get myself over there.

My question is this...given that access is not a problem, what are the best days for a visit to OST to get the best selection of traffic...if indeed such days exist. As I understand it OST is not massively busy but you do get occassional gems, such as African 707's and the like...

Any info greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Dean

You can check the daily traffic at http://www.ostendairport.be/frames/frame_arrival.htm . This can give you an impression on what's going on and what to expect. I'm checking it frequently, and from my observation there are no good or bad days, it is just a question of luck.
Another useful link might be http://users.pandora.be/michel.vandaele/. This is an enthusiast's homepage with some more spotting info.
