Quebec City Summit Aircraft

Sun Apr 22, 2001 9:53 am

Just to let all the fellow Quebecers out there know that I went to Mirabel today and there were no aircraft there from the YQB summit. I guess they either stayed at YQB, went to CFB Baggotville or went home until they have to return to pick the people up. Too bad though, it would have been nice to see some of them at YMX.

There was a USAF B727 at Dorval, though I don't know if it had anything to do with the summit.

A Mexican Air Force 737 also landed and departed at YUL yesterday to pick up Mexico's president and bring him to YQB. Photos of that and the USAF 727 have been submitted to Airliners.net

Too bad indeed.

I picked my information few weeks earlier in "Le Soleil" a Québec newspaper that was talking about the lack of parking spaces in YQB. I saw the other day, on this forum, a note about the CAF A310 that was to ferry all heads of states from MIA to YQB. I didn't think this to be possible but it looks like this may have been the case after all.

Any news from anybody in YQB???

Hello all,

Really too bad about the lack of aircraft , it would have been a great opportunity. The Mexican Air Force B737 was in YOW just before the summit, unfortunatley they had it parked right behind a hanger so a picture, well a good picture, was out of the question. Fox and Chretien had a little pow-wow on the Wed & Thurs. I was in YUL yesterday and also did not see any aircraft from the summit. Oh well back to regular old airliners.
