i wrote back and asked a few questions, here was his reply....
A digital image is just fine. The image that I got from the web
is adequate but if I could get a higher resolution image that would
be even better.
In regard to other of your photos that I may be able to use, I
have no idea what photos that you have. When I need a photo
that shows a particular feature of a particular airplane, I do
a search of the web for the airplane that I want. Usually there
are more photographs than I could ever look at. In the case of
the C-5 the search returned more than 10,000 photos. When I
stated looking through the search results, yours was the first
good photo that displayed the feature that I was looking for,
in this case the turbofan engines. In the case of very old
airplanes, it is not so easy.
In regard to number of copies for the textbook I have no idea about
that either. The publisher takes care of that. I do know that the
market is small.
