Kodachrome Processing Time In UK

Fri Jun 01, 2001 10:31 pm

AAAAARGHHH KODAK!!!!

How long do I have to wait for my slides to be processed?. I have 19 rolls of K64 "in the system", with the first one being sent nearly a month ago now. Now I know that we have had disruption to our postal system, and a couple of Bank Holidays, but I'm now getting concerned that they have screwed up again.

I sent some to the usual UK address and the rest direct to Switzerland.

Has anyone else had the same problem with delays this long??

Regards

Rich,

Can't be much help I'm afraid... The last lot I had back from Switzerland were the slides of the BMI A330. I posted five films on Monday 30th April and I got them back on Monday 14th May - two weeks exactly. The previous batch of 27 films also took exactly two weeks. I posted ten more films yesterday, so I was kind of hoping... Oh well, we'll see.

Coincidentally, today I sent a snot-o-gram to Kodak Customer Services Manager in Wimbledon, complaining about the service. Her name is Sarah Eels, and I can give you her full address if you'd like to add your weight to the argument. I am especially annoyed at the moment because Kodak's slow turnround (albeit only two weeks for me thus far) has cost me some photo sales to a major UK magazine, which couldn't wait that long and bought from another photographer who could supply more quickly  Sad

I feel my days of shooting K-64, after almost 20 years and 2000 films, are rapidly coming to an end.

Hi Andy,

I'll have her address please...processing turnaround aside (also 2 weeks for me since move to Switzerland) I am convinced the slides from the Swiss lab are slightly duller and "matt'er" than was the case at UK lab...do you have any thoughts on this...or have you noticed anything...?

Cheers,
Dean

Tell it to her like it is!  Angry

Actually, I thought that the results were OK, but the processing turnround time is what's going to drive me away from Kodak as soon as I've gotten rid of the unexposed film I already have.

Thanks Andy,

I will put my Mr Angry head on, and write and tell her my tales of woe.

Cheers for now
