Will This Photo Get Accepted?

Mon Jun 04, 2001 11:22 am

This is my first decent looking image. The edges are a little rough since I had the photo scanned to a disk and they didn't do it perfectly. Anyway I think I got it looking pretty good. Do you guys think it stands a chance of being accepted, please keep in mind that this is probably one of the last Dash-8's in the original CP colours. Thanks, any comments are welcome.

Actually, I rather like it . Nice backdrop, not great but nice light, nice composition ect... I think it should have a better than even chance of getting in. Did you make mention the fact that this was one of the last DASH 8 s in CP colors ? Often by making comments such as this will increase your chances of getting accepted.

Good luck

For a beginner, that looks really nice. You'll just have to wait and see, and if he rejects it, try and touch it up with a photo program if you have one.

Very good photo, I like it a lot. Hopefully it will be included - the footnote about it being one of the last Dash 8's in CP colours should help too. Good Luck! If it is not immediately accepted do not despair - try touching it up first with the scanner programme.

That's not a bad photo at all! However, it's a little 'over-exposed' for my tastes (where the sky becomes white, and everything else becomes a little washed-out). Is this a print or a slide? If it's a print, I suggest getting a reprint and scanning it that way, because they can correct those sorts of things... (providing you don't over or under expose by say, more than 2 stops...!)
With a little practice, you'll get the hang of it... you're not far off!

Regards,
Rob

Thanks for the comment. Those Air Can pics are one of my first attempts at shooting close-ups with planes on the move. I've got some still shots, but I find it more challenging and rewarding of getting those action shots. Shooting in overcast conditions in late afternoon is a bit tough. More pics come out blurred than you can imagine - no future for those. I'll be adding more to my site soon. For some odd reason I can't get those up on A.net....  Confused

Thanks for the reassurance, Jonathan, sonic.

That fence is a pig at MAN, i really wish they'd at least lower it. Or make the viewing platforms higher.

I just hope Johan will have pity hehe  Smile
