I would say they should be accepted but I'm no expert. I wish 1/10 of my pictures came out that good.

Also, are you the same Chris Kilroy that runs Airdisaster.com?

Very nice shots. I don't see any reason why they'd be rejected.

I like them all except the Winair were there is too much sky, all the others are wonderful pictures and the first one (AA 763) is just fantastic, even that reflex adds something special to the photo. I guess it will have around 1000 views very quickly.

Congratulations.

Luis, Faro, Portugal
P.S. What's the name of the hotel from were you took the photo?

I have already saved them - will add your name to them later.

I love the shadow in the AA 767 shot - and the way the top of the tail lines up almost perfectly with the edge of the water and sky in the horizon....

yo chris - you did a great job !!!!!

Hi all,

Thanks SO MUCH for all of the great comments! I never expected to be so well (re)received on the forum here. I've been away for quite awhile, and it's nice to see the same nice people I remember from before.  Smile

I've included links to a couple more photos. I uploaded a total of 35 photos, and I wouldn't want to show you ALL of them, because there wouldn't be any suspense then, would there?  Big grin

I posted the Continental 73G go around shot here because I'm doubtful that it'll get accepted, even though I did upload it. I just thought it was somewhat interesting to see a wide-angle shot of the entire beach/spotting area, and an aircraft performing a go around.

My favorite of this bunch is the wing shot of the landing at TNCM.  Smile

I agree with you Chris on the CO 'Go around', its' borderline at best!

Wed Jul 25, 2001 2:47 pm

you got it happening here. the way things are lined up. the wing shot is lined up perfect - the edge meets up with - well - anyone can see......

I don't know what else to say, and I still have a few more pics to look at. The 747 is sweet also. The timing and lines are great. I gotta go look at the rest...

What type of digital camera do you use? Those photos are amazing, and how many megapixles is the camera.

Actually he told me that it is a Sony DSC-E505V 3.3 mxp camera with a 300mm.

Damn, Flycoach you almost had me going with that first price quote of $1900 for a D-30. I was going to pick one up tomorrow if that was the case!

Chris,

Nice to see your still alive and kicking  Wink/being sarcastic

They are great shots and are sure to be accepted, did you use a "fake" name just in case Big grin

I have to blame Chris for making me spend a few thousand pounds on buying my S1, it was his digital shots that made me buy it. If Chris is still using the same camera then he has a Sony DSC-505 and as you can see it produces great shots. Now i have said that he's probably gone and bought something better!

Good to see your still around, must be time to upload some of those UPS shots?

All the best

Hi Chris. Nice new camera you got there.  Big grin

Your first set of pictures are first-rate. No question they'll get accepted.

Your second set: The tarmac shot 757 is interesting because of the perspective. It LOOKS like the camera was not level to the ground, which is a reason for rejection, but it isn't (I actually took a ruler to confirm that the ground is level). So you might get a rejection based on that from a screen who might be a little too fast on the buttons.

The Go-around: Hmmmm... It's interesting to see. Composition-wise it is borderline, Technically it is excellent. I'd pass it if it came my way.

Hi Chris

If these do not get added the Screeners need to be sacked and Johan will need to get new glasses Big grin

The Corsair 747 and the arriving AA 767 are, in my opinion, some of the best pics I have ever seen from St Maarten.

Pity about the sun glinting off the fuselage, but hey, who cares!

Hey again,

I have to say, that CO 737 is extremely interesting. I would sure as hell add it to the database, but i don't know if the pre-screeners and Johan would agree with me.

You say you are not going to show all of them, so as not to loose the suspense - does this means there are better ones??  Smokin cool

First off I'd like to say I'm very impressed with the pics, I hope someday I can visit St. Maarten for some spotting.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Did anybody else notice the reg # on the Corsair 747?
Is that why it has the lips on it? Or is that on all Corsair 747's? hahaha "F-GSEX"

F**king good sex LOL

I know I'm immature, but I couldn't help notice.

Corsair has F-GSEA, F-GSUN, and F-GSEX. If you take a look at each of these they have something in the livery that reflects the registration.

Hey Aircanon,

Chris and I went over this and I will tell you what he said to save him from typing what he and I alreadt went through.

Chris uses the Sony DSC-F505V Digital Camera.

This is right out of the Sony Web Page

Take the DSC-F505V Cyber-Shot® Digital Still Camera on your next vacation for razor- sharp pictures of your extravagant adventures. Maneuver the Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar rotating lens for the perfect shot as you capture the good times. Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar 5X optical zoom lens, 10X precision digital zoom

3 1/2 " swivel screen LCD display (123K)

High Quality 16 frames/sec ¼ VGA MPEG Movie with full screen playback

External flash terminal for use with the HVL F1000 accessory flash.

_______________________________________________

He did not alter the shots in any other way then cropping to make them smaller.

"I have a 64mb memory stick, along with the 8mb stick that came with the camera. The 64mb stick holds approximately 100 photos, as I take them in 1280x1024 with little compression. Each photo is approximately 500k. " -Chris

Hope this helps.

BTW The camera costs about $800 usd on the internet.
