notice the cessna about to land on 34R! at SEA they do those parallel approaches on clear days...it's an amazing sight to see two commercial airplanes so close together in the air...i've seen this personally at SEA a few years ago...anyway i thought i would point this out..

good shot joe, i'd like to see some more work from SEA, as i didn't really get the chance to shoot there (back in the day before i got serious  Smile/happy/getting dizzy)

To bad there's no remark - then more people would have noticed the special about this shot. Nice!

Guys,
I saw the Cessna when I uploaded the shot but I just figured it was parked there, didnt look like it was landing- this is what happens when you scan 40-50 slides at a time- you dont see some of the little things that are unique in some of the shots. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out Jonathan.

Always nice to get the surprise Cessna in the photo. If it was a 747, would it be that special? Oh yea, I think we could all see the 747, watcha think?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

It can be quite scary when you have to do that sort of thing... Fly a Cessna right alongside a big jet on a parallel runway. I well remember making some circuits (patterns) at Orlando Sanford whilst there was a 727 in the pattern on the opposite side, using the parallel runway. Parallel approaches are interesting, but when you're both on base leg at the same time, a Cessna and a 727 heading towards each other, then that focusses the mind on not running through the centre line as you turn final.

Boeing757fan,

in regard to the 747 simultaneous approach- i have two on the database, the jal 742 with the gulfstream in lax and the thai 744 and ualexp je41 in lax. But those two shots I knew and saw exactly what was going on- with this shot, I did not know the cessna was landing simultaneously when I took the shot, in fact, when I saw the slide, I saw the cessna but I just thought it was parked in that grassy area. You guys here have very good eyes!
