Blurry?

Thu Aug 09, 2001 9:36 pm

This one (and 2 others like it) got rejected for being "very blurry". Any thoughts?

J.T.,

That pictures does look pretty blurry. How does the original look - better? Did you scan a film/slide or a print? What kind of film did you use?

Oops, I didn't scroll down far enough. Sensia 100 on an F80 should give you a much better result than this. As I said, is the original well in-focus?

Weird. On my screen there is no bad blur at all. Everything is sharp when checking with a loup (as well as the 30MB scanfile).

Hi

If it does not look blurry to you, you may need to get new glasses.

Very blurry to my eyes.

Hi,

If you can't read the name of the plane on the nose or the titles "The Flying Dutchman" from that distance then for sure it is blurry.

Kind Regards, George Polfliet

rescanned with adjusted focus. A lot sharper on the big file (30+MB), still readable on the uploaded one (600+KB)

I think you should avoid shooting through glass. It introduces refelctions and scatters the light producing soft images.

This was not taken through glass... Unless you mean the lens on the camera  Smile

J.T.,

I just saw it. MUCH better. But there is a chance Johan might think it a little dark, especially in the shadows (could be fixed with gamma). We'll see.

Good luck.

Thanks. It was really that dark on the day. Heavy clouds and occasional showers. The scan may even be a bit brighter than the slide as it is  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Could you post a link to the uploaded image? I'd like to sneek a peek at the re-worked photo.

same as before, I replaced it. photo.net does sometimes cause some lossy compression so small details may be slightly distorted.

Guess Johan didn't like it. "poor quality" indeed... Not every day is a sunny day with perfect light...
