Hmmm... maybe spotters at the same place shooting together - that's not uncommon. Seen any of the pictures from a thread a while ago?

These are not duplicates, but if you look at them side by side you see that Justin Cederholm photo has a better resolution. It would be nice to know what film, camera, and lens were used to take the different photos.

Also, John Sweeney's photo is a split second later; the MD-11 is in a slightly different place with respect to the Tristar.

I don't think Justin's photo has the better resolution. The sharpening tool was used a bit more and the colour looks way different but I can't say which one looks more realistic.

I have one just like it because I was standing right next to them lol, well not just like it, I shot my MD-11 when it was clear of the L1011 and you could see both aircraft in full.
But yea...I was there, on the back of the truck.

I do scan my negs.

Kodak Royal Gold 100
Nikon N70
Nikkor 70-300mm lens

As far as I know, John has a regular flatbed (not sure what type, and was using regular kodak gold 100).

Regards,
Justin

Are you trying to imply I can't get my pics accepted?

had a good laugh with those last posts...

below is some more food for thought:
Both were supposedly taken on different days, August 4 and 11. Looks more like a few seconds gap to me as the aircraft in #2 just barely taxis along to the right.
funny to see how many people are out there taking pictures of the same aircraft at the same angle, at the same time.

These were definetly taken seconds apart. Note the AA md-80(or 727) in the background taxing. If you compare it with the pole to its right, you will notice that it is closer to it in the first one then in the second one, fitting perfectly with the second A340 which has also taxied sligthly ahead of the A340 in the first one. Odd the the photogs wouldnt remember the date of a photo taken only a couple wekks ago.

They're exactly a week apart though aren't they? Easy to look back at the calendar and think, oh yes, it was Saturday the xx I was at xxx...

geez, and I had a photo rejected because it was "too similar" to one already posted.

You will find that some of my photos are almost identical to those of Marlo Plate and Thomas Fischer. However, what we try to do is at least not to upload them on the same day, or we arrange by saying you take this angle and I the other shot.

It's kinda hard to remember what day it was taken after 3-4 long days and 10 rolls of film later. Does the date really matter?
