Queue Processing...

Not a complaint...just a query.

I have recently undergone a change of email address - ouch!!!

I have some 13 shots in the queue that were added with the old email address. They have been in the queue for several weeks now.

I also had a shot in the queue (some 200 photographers behind the other shots) added last week with my new email address.

As I now have all my shots in the database updated to my new email address I am unable to track the progress of the shots added with the old email address. I have though been tracking the recently added shot and as of last night (Sep 4th 2001) it had moved a few steps nearer the front of the queue...but still had some 350 photographers before it in the queue.

Last night I added another shot that was then also (with the shot added last week) some 350 photographers away from the front of the queue.

The strange thing is I received notification this morning (Sep 5th 2001) that the shot I added last night had been added to the database. There was no mention of the shot added last week and the stats page shows this still in the queue with some 350 photographers before it.

I suspect the other 13 shots added under the old email address are also still in the queue.

I'm confused.

Anyone (Screeners/Admin/Johan/Photographers) care to comment and explain how this might have happened?

Cheers,
Dean

Dean,

I had 30ish pictures in the queue last night and only had 20 or so added, checking the upload queue this morning shows 10 still waiting in line. Likewise two I uploaded last night (Spit and Harrier) were added over night

It's possible that your newly added photos were so good that they were checked as "high quality" by the person who screened them. Johan has told us that he is going to start paying special attention to these shots, so it's possible that he has been through and added shots that we have marked out as "high quality" before others that are in the main queue. But as it was him that did added these shots and not me, I can't confirm this - it's just a possibility.

S4,

Is that (high quality option) a new feature available to the screeners?

The screeners have had the option to mark a photo as "high quality" for a little while now. The idea is that when Johan is satisfied that all the pics marked as high quality by us meet his acceptance standards, he will be able to add these without further review of them. This is also the first step towards the screeners adding photos to the database ourselves, although I feel that this is still some way off.

Thanks for the info S4.

Sounds like a worthwhile feature to me.
