No offense to Air Nikon, but this is terrible. Was this one of the first photos in the database so Johan wasn't strict about it?

most shots uploaded in from 1998 and earlier look like that. The database was small and the standards were low.

Look at the id number... one of the first shots on the site. As the numbers get higher, the standards and quality get higher. So the photo is a little small and a little grainy... I still think it is a very nice shot. If it were larger, it still might get on today because of its age (1986). If it was smoother, I think it would be on today without a doubt.

At the time that photo was uploaded there really wasn't a slide scanner out there that could produce better results (unless you had access to a drum scanner). Most of us slide shooters either had transparency adapters on a flatbed or the extremely fortunate had the 1st gen. Photosmart.

I am sure if AirNikon re-scanned the slide, it would look fantastic.

Jeremy, stop that shameless plug of putting your shot in your sig.
Noone else does it, right? Would be something if one of the regulars with 5000 shots were to put them all in his sig every posting they make  Smile

AirNikon is a valuable contributor to this site in terms of quantity and QUALITY. Rather than bash his earlier work with what now seems primitive image digitizing hardware, look at what he does now.
